Terms of use
DRAFT, pending legal review. These terms are not final and are not yet in force. Last updated 18 October 2026.
1. Who we are
Ringaway is run by MR Digital Ventures TODO: add legal suffix and registered address (“we”, “us”). Contact: [email protected].
2. The service
Ringaway lets you get a telephone number from another country and use it to make and receive calls and to send and receive texts over the internet, through our mobile app. Numbers, countries, number types and prices change, and the app shows what is available when you look. Some numbers can take calls but cannot send texts; the app says so.
3. Your account
- You must give accurate details and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
- A personal account and a business account are separate: each has its own numbers, team members and credit, and they are never merged.
- You must be old enough to form a contract where you live TODO: legal to set the minimum age.
4. Credit, prices and payment
- You pay for calls and texts from credit that you add. Prices are shown before you call or send. There is no unlimited calling.
- The currency of your credit is chosen once, at your first top-up or purchase, and cannot be changed afterwards.
- A call is limited by the credit available when it starts, and ends when that credit is used up.
- A number has a monthly fee, shown before you buy it, and renews automatically while the subscription is paid.
- Credit and payments are recorded in a ledger. Only verified payment events from the payment provider or the app store add credit; the app itself cannot.
- TODO: legal to set refund and unused-credit wording, taxes, and the maximum credit an account can hold.
5. If a payment fails
If a renewal fails, we give a grace period during which the number is paused for outgoing use, then a further period before it is released. A released number cannot be restored. The app shows the dates.
6. Emergency calls
Ringaway does not support emergency calls. Calls and texts through Ringaway cannot reach emergency services (911, 999, 112 or any other emergency number). Use your mobile network or a landline. Do not depend on Ringaway in an emergency.
7. Verification codes and other services
We do not promise that a Ringaway number will receive codes or messages from banks, messaging apps or other services. Many of them refuse internet numbers. Do not rely on a Ringaway number for them.
8. Acceptable use
You must not use the service for fraud, harassment, unsolicited bulk messages, calls or texts that break the law or the rules of the networks, or to get around the limits we set (for example call speed limits or blocked destinations). Some destinations are blocked by default. We may limit, pause or end an account that does, and we may be required to give information to authorities.
9. Numbers that need identity or address checks
In some countries the law requires proof of identity or an address before a number can be used. The app tells you what is needed before you buy. We may refuse or end a number if the check is not passed or the information is not accurate.
10. Texts
If someone replies STOP to a text from your number, we stop sending them texts from that number. Sending texts from some countries’ numbers, such as US and Canadian numbers, may need extra carrier registration and may be blocked until it is done.
11. Availability
We aim for a reliable service, but calls and texts depend on networks and partners we do not control. We do not promise the service will always be available or error-free.
12. Ending
You can delete your account in the app. We can end or suspend the service to you for breaking these terms. TODO: legal to set what happens to credit on deletion.
13. Liability and law
TODO: legal to write the limits of liability, the governing law and the place for disputes.
14. Changes
We will update these terms and say so before important changes take effect.
